Sewer Lateral Help is published by Baysix Media. It is an independent information resource. It is not the City of San Mateo or any government agency, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the City. It is not a plumbing contractor and does not perform inspections or construction work. More about us is on the about page.
City programs, forms and applications are run by the City. Where this site links to them, the link says so. Applying for a City program happens on the City's own pages, not here.
Information, not advice
The content and tools on this site explain published City rules in plain language. They are for general information and are not legal, engineering or financial advice. Results from the inspection checker and the failed inspection navigator are based only on your answers and are not determinations of what applies to your property. The City and licensed professionals make those calls.
We check every rule against official City sources and show the date we last checked it. Rules change, and we can't guarantee the site is complete or current at every moment. Always confirm with the City before relying on a rule for a sale, permit or payment.

If you ask us to share your request with contractors, those contractors are independent businesses. We don't employ them, and we are not responsible for their quotes, work, licensing or conduct. Check any contractor's license with the Contractors State License Board before you hire them.
